Scott CaryScott Cary
Chief Marketing Officer, Spectrum K12 School Solutions

Scott has 25 years of technology marketing experience across a broad range of B-to-B, B-to-G and B-to-E products and companies.  He has launched over 50 products in a cross section of market segments.  By far the best “product” launches have been his two children who have completed college and become (mostly) productive members of society.  Scott is currently CMO of Spectrum K12, a K-12 education technology leader that is reinventing the classroom to personalize learning for all students. Previously a VC-backed company, Spectrum K12 was recently acquired by Harland Clarke Holdings Corp.

Prior to joining Spectrum K12, Scott founded the Product Management Institute, where for 11 years he specialized in providing organizations with the expertise necessary to transform product management into product performance. Scott has also led marketing, product management and business unit teams at various technology companies including Legent, Best Software and British Telecom. Scott has been a regular speaker on Marketing and Product Management and topics and has created the Instant Positioning Test to quickly validate product or company positioning.

A graduate of the University of Virginia, Scott currently bemoans the depressing state of the UVA football and basketball programs. 

 


Pamela CasalePamela Casale
Director of Marketing Global Cloud Computing and Software, Computer Sciences Corporation

A seasoned market strategist with more than 20 years of marketing and management experience for emerging and established technology companies, Pamela joined CSC in July of 2010. She is an integral part of the leadership team supporting CSC's cloud computing initiative, driving branding, customer engagement, lead generation and other critical marketing functions.

She joined CSC after a successful run as Chief Marketing Officer for Intellitactics, through their acquisition by Trustwave. At Intellitactics, she managed corporate and product strategy, marketing activities including web presence, analyst, media and trade show relations and advertising, lead generation and general sales support.

Previously, Pamela was the founder of Clear Thinking, a marketing consultancy based in Northern Virginia that provided strategic market and product planning counsel to emerging companies in the high-tech industry. Earlier in her career, Pamela held senior executive positions with Baan Company, Merant Software, Sterling Software (acquired by Computer Associates NYSE: CA), and MAXM Systems (acquired by Boole & Babbage).

Pamela holds a Masters degree from the University of Pittsburgh, a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and has attended the University of Virginia Darden School Executive Program. She also serves as an advisor to several high-tech companies and developing companies in the Virginia area.

 


Peter JacobsPeter Jacobs
Vice President, Alion Science and Technology

A technology marketer with more than 20 years of B-to-B and B-to-G experience, Peter has helped companies ranging from software start-ups to engineering giants succeed. At Alion Science and Technology, Peter is especially focused on branding and media relations and has greatly increased the awareness of Alion’s solutions for the government and commercial customers.  He has also supported multiple acquisitions, managing the brand integration of acquired companies.

Peter previously served in senior marketing roles for software and services firms, including Webversa, Telos, NetGuard and STMS, and was Copy Director for The Marketing Group, a tech-focused B-to-B agency. Throughout his career, Peter has led marketing programs that encompass press and analyst relations, online and offline advertising, product and “productized” service launches, and channel partner initiatives.

He began his career as a radio announcer and commercial producer, and has been a freelance copywriter and voiceover artist. In 2010, he was named one of SmartCEO Magazine’s “Smart CMOs.” Peter earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Syracuse University in Television/Radio Journalism.

  

 


Warren JonesWarren Jones
Vice President of Marketing, Enterworks

Warren has more than 20 years of technology marketing experience with products ranging from $99 PC software sold at retail to $500,000 systems software deployed by global enterprises. His management experience spans more than 25 years in worldwide communications, professional services, and software development firms where he has successfully led teams through start-up phases, corporate acquisitions, and restructuring.

In his role at Enterworks, Warren directs all corporate- and product-awareness programs, brand strategy, sales promotion, and lead generation. He also produced road show presentations and crafted documents used in a successful $25 million private financing round for Enterworks.

Warren worked previously for Telos Corporation, Relay Technology, Candle Corporation, and Systems Center (formerly VM Software, and later a division of Sterling Software before its acquisition by Computer Associates). Warren worked earlier as a marketing consultant for IBM, MCI, and NYNEX. He previously held marketing and legal positions in the entertainment industry, including several years with American Broadcasting Companies, Inc. Warren holds a BS in public communications from Syracuse University and a JD from the University of Richmond School of Law.

Bob is a 20+ year marketing veteran who has managed annual marketing budgets ranging from the $200 million network television launch of MCI Friends & Family (back when network tv really meant something) to under $25,000.  He also served as VP of Marketing for Digex, Incorporated, a national Web hosting and management firm that grew 100% annually during his two-year tenure.  His work and writing has been profiled or covered by the Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, the Miami Herald, USA Today and Marketing News (the AMA's flagship magazine).  Bob's has recently presented at the GrowSmartBiz event, the National Association of Federal Credit Union's Annual Conference and the nationwide Unintentional Entrepreneur series.

In his spare time, Bob writes a business humor blog called, Bobservations, which addresses the ironic and funny things that happen all the time in the business world.

 

 


Gary McNeilGary McNeil

Gary is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to accelerate Parature's global market leadership position. Gary oversees brand and identity, lead generation, marketing communications, public relations, customer marketing activities, events, Web marketing and industry analyst relations.

Gary has twenty years of marketing experience. Prior to joining Parature, Gary was vice president of marketing for Vocus Inc., the global leader in public relations management software, where he helped grow the company from almost 8 million in revenue to over 40 million and a successful IPO. Prior to Vocus, Gary was Vice President of Marketing for Authoria Inc., the world leader in human capital management software where he played an instrumental role in achieving a trajectory of consistent and rapid growth. Gary also held several key positions with Kronos, Inc., most recently as Director of Marketing Programs. A frequent guest speaker, Gary has spoken at numerous online events and at industry tradeshows and conferences around the country.

Gary holds a B.S in Business Administration from Northeastern University.

Before joining Blackboard, Robert held marketing leadership positions in the telecommunications, online media and enterprise software arenas. His career building brands has included success at companies in various stages - from leading brands like Blackboard and The Motley Fool to fast growing category builders like ATCALL and Nucleus Solutions, a leading data integration software provider in the Human Capital Management market. A graduate of the University of Virginia, Robert lives with his wife and three children in Alexandria, Virginia.


Jen  NormanJen Norman

Jen Norman is a Managing Associate at Korn/Ferry International, a premier global provider of talent management solutions. A 20-year software sales and marketing industry veteran accustomed to leading fast-paced change, Jen's on-target assessments quickly produce talent focusing on clients, innovation and profitability. As a member of the firm's Technology Practice, Jen specializes in serving clients in the technology industry. Most recently, Jen was a Director at CTPartners. Previously, Jen worked in various marketing positions at Convera, Trusted Computer Solutions, Cigital, Baan and Software AG.

She is active in a variety of professional and nonprofit organizations including the Northern Virginia Technology Council and March of Dimes. She recently completed a term as a board member of Women in Technology serving as communication chair.

He has previously volunteered as a street leader for Exodus Youth Services, a DC charity that ministered to inner city children, for four years and prior to that volunteered at Nyumbani, an AIDs orphanage in Kenya.

 


Brian  ReedBrian Reed

As BoxTone’s Chief Marketing Officer, Brian Reed brings more than 18 years of experience in strategy, product, and marketing in the technology industry. Brian oversees the strategic direction, positioning and product portfolio of BoxTone, including market strategy, go-to-market activities, product marketing, product management and marketing communications. Brian is a frequent writer and speaker at major industry events on wide variety of topics including mobility, service management, business/IT optimization, marketing, eMarketing/social media and entrepreneurial startups.

 

Prior to BoxTone, he was the Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at Cesura, where he helped reposition the business and transition the product portfolio to a managed service (MSP) and drove rapid new market entry in the SAAS, Web 2.0 and on-demand marketplace through innovative marketing techniques. Prior to Cesura, he was the Vice President of Marketing and Exective Member of Board of Directors at FormScape (now BottomLine Technologies), where he led the innovation of the new market category for Document Process Automation and drove value to achieve successful investor exit of 5X.

 

Brian’s prior experience includes Vice President of Product Management and Marketing roles at DataDirect Technologies (now Progress Software), MERANT and INTERSOLV – all industry leaders in enterprise-grade middleware and application development tools. Additionally Brian served in technical management roles at Q+E Software and TTS.

 

Brian is also founder and principal of ReedCMOAdvisory -- a boutique firm focused on creating category leaders and revenue machines, acting as an advisor to several technology companies and currently serving on the Board of Directors of two early stage companies. Brian is a BME/EE graduate of Duke University, Board Member of the Washington DC Technology Marketing Alliance (TMA) and a member of the CMO Council.

 

 

 


Elizabeth  SheaElizabeth Shea
President and CEO, SpeakerBox Communications

Elizabeth Shea is president and CEO of SpeakerBox Communications, a technology PR and communications firm she cofounded in 1997. She also serves as Chair of the Board of Advisors for the Technology Marketing Alliance (www.technologymarketingalliance.com), a group she co-founded with other industry partners.

Elizabeth spent the first part of her career in Silicon Valley, working for Apple Computer, SuperMac Technologies and Momenta Computer. She relocated to the east coast to work for top-tier government integrators Falcon Microsystems, EdgeMark Systems and I-Net-companies that delivered Oracle, Apple, Silicon Graphics, Compaq, Sun Microsystems solutions, and more. Elizabeth has received industry and peer accolades, including the SmartCEO Brava Award in 2009 and the 2008 Women Who Mean Business Award from The Washington Business Journal. Other awards include Women In Technology's 2005 Entrepreneurial Leadership Award and Washington Women In Public Relations' (WWPR) annual Women of the Year Award in 2001.
